The Eighth Day
Statement: This site is not designed to differ with any religion, or personal belief. Regardless of your ethnic or spiritual background, it is written to stimulate thought and reflection; to assert my thoughts and belief that God loves all who search and worship with an open heart. I claim no insight, only a desire to explore the mysteries of The Bible.
When all was created as outlined in The Bible, God finished His work and rested and that was the seventh day. The waters brought forth all the life that was within them and all fowl of the air was created on the fifth day (or fifth period of time according to recognized authority of the word "day"). The sixth day (period of time) was dedicated to the creation of earth/land creatures including man. How long was this in process, a literal 24 hour day, a thousand years, millions of years? Strong's Concordance (world recognized authority on translation and meaning of words), states the word "day" is indefinite and could mean millions of years).
The seventh day (period of time) God rested. But was cro-magnon, neanderthal and homo-erectus, etc., all created during this sixth period of time that would have stretched over millenia? If so, during this same period would it not be probable that the different types o f man would cross breed? Could this explain recent findings, with evidence of neanderthal and homo-erectus co-existing in European caves? If any of this is true, then man and all living things are millions of years old as science states, and is not contradictory to The Bible. Only man has put his own interpretation into the creation, then further confused the issues by his own theology. How long did the seventh day last; are we still living in that period or have we been living the eighth day since the fall of Adam and Eve?
If we are living the eighth day, then it began during the period of time before the sixth chapter of Genesis, where the first verse begins man's saga with the son's of God. God states that man is evil and we wonder if man learned evil or was he born evil. Psychology today argues the validity of environmental factors being the sole cause of criminal behavior. There are too many cold-blooded people, including serial killers that have come from good homes with no identifiable reason for the murderous lusts that control them. We also see children raised in the same home differing greatly in behavior. This has been found even in twins. Also it has been found that twins and/or siblings raised in different families often have like-tendencies. What is the explanation? Certainly a child that is neglected, abused or raised in a hurtful environment is going to suffer, and many will strike back or assume the behavior of their environment. But what about the great number that become stronger due to the neglectful or disturbing environment? This article is not intended to be analytical or a study of human behavior, but rather to try and understand the stages of early man.
Where did God send Adam and Eve when they were driven from the Garden of Eden and what was Cain's fear when he told God "Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that everyone that findeth me shall slay me." Who are all these people he is referring to? The 4th chapter of Genesis goes on to state that Cain went to the land of Nod. Where did Nod get it's name? Where did all of our different races come from? If Adam and Eve had been the only humans, then the diverse races could not exist, could they? Then isn't it easy to see that the Lord said He created male and female and told them to replenish the earth, meant that! Replenish means to supply again or perhaps the meaning was to multiply as we have been taught. But that alone could not explain the different races.
Shortly after this time we find Cain married (the wife had to come from a family), and they had children and the children married (with each of their spouses having come from families), so we must assume there were numerous people on the earth at that time? How many years really passed during the transition of God's rest and the progression of man until today. One period of time? This is the seventh day? How can that be, when we find further along in Genesis He is active in preserving the lives of the Israelites and destroying the enemies who would destroy them. How long does the eighth period last? Some people believe that Adam and Eve had lots of children before Cain and Abel and they were marrying there brothers and sisters. Come on; why would God further on in Genesis forbid incestuous relationships and say they were not to God's liking. Even that wouldn't explain the great differeces in races. THINK!
Matt Crenson of Associated Press recently published an article regarding genetic information. He wrote; Q: "Will anybody be able to use genetic information against me?" A: "There are great concerns that genetic technology will be used to discriminate against people in employment, insurance coverage, and other areas. People also worry that the discovery of a "violence gene" could be used to deny the civil rights of individuals based on their perceived potential to commit crimes in the future."
In Job, 2:1, we read; " Again there was a day (literal/figurative), when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the Lord. And the Lord said to Satan, "from whence comest thou?" " And Satan answered the Lord, and said; "From going to and fro in the earth and from walking up and down it it."
In 'Creation vs Darwinian Evolution', I quoted the story in Genesis where the sons of God came into the daughters of man, married and raised children. Who were the sons of God that came down (from where?) and had offspring with the daughters of men? Are they fallen angels and if so they had to have bodies to have produced children and we see that Satan sometimes was with them. Is there such a thing as an evil genetic link? A few years ago everyone would have laughed at the idea of the human genome and it's code. Today it is fact! If satan was an archangel, then he has the ability to have a human like form as other angels do. Now there is something to think on also......
