The  Bible  Codes
  Michael  Drosnin

The author of this book, an investigative reporter, became fascinated with the works of a well known mathmetician,
Dr. Eliyahu Rips who
claimed to have discovered the code.
"No one yet knows if the Bible code
accurately foretellswhat is yet to come,
but the code may be a warning to this world of unprecedented danger."

"Perhaps the real Apocalypse, is a nuclear
war."

"It raises a question for us all, does the code describe an inevitable future, or a series of possible futures whose ultimate outcome we can still decide."

Those are the words of the author.

Is it possible that at some point in time as the Bible was being written, there was an encryption or code that would be discovered in these adavnced days? I don't know the answer, I only know I was intrigued enough to buy the book and the software to explore for myself. I will discuss the software in the next segment.

I  have  read  most of  the  published pro and con  persuasions and I am still mystified. First,  I am a  great fan of puzzles and codes and have spent many years solving them as a hobby.  I think  each  interested person should go to a good search engine and enter 'Bible Code',  and  read  for  themselves  the  myriad of controversy.  The book is well written and even convincing in areas,  but  then I  find areas so trivial that it seems unlikely a particular subject would have been incoded.

Now  for  the  most  intriguing  aspect  of  the  history  of the Bible Code. A code was first discovered by Eliyahu Rips, a mathematician dealing with quantam physics. It is stated that it  reportedly   was  affirmed  by  famous  mathematicians  at   Harvard,  Yale  and  Hebrew University.  The book states that it has been replicated by a senior code-breaker at the U S Department of Defense. The book further states  "it has passed three levels of secular peer review   at  a  leading  U S  math   journal."   The  context  of  reviewed  matter  is/was the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin, the Prime Minister of Israel.  Many such areas and subjects have had prestigious reviews by recognized authorities.

The code only works in the Hebrew language and books of the Torah. Evidently there is ongoing study of the New Testament, but as of this date I have heard of no evidence of a code.

Since  I  will  not  be  distracted  from accepting the possibility that it is true by the same group  of  debunkers  that  try  to  influence  all  to  believe  in  nothing,   neither  will  I  be gullible to accept everything I read,  therefore I must remain objective and say the subject matter is stimulating and leaves one wondering at the possibility.

Michael Drosnin, a reporter, formerly at the Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal. is the author of the New York Times best seller; 'Citizen Hughes'. He lives and works in New York City.  The hard cover edition has  over 400 hundred pages of easy reading.   Although complex in nature the book is an easy to read compilation for every one.

This book is worth reading if you have an open mind and willing to look at the reputable  names  involved.  I have no answers and perhaps you won't either,  but  it  is  an intriguing concept.  If  it  is  a  true  encryption,  then  there  was  certainly  a  very  superior intelligence at work. I took several random relatively small books and tried to find the same type of code that should have been random chance, but was unable to find any codes, so therefore I really find this a mystery.  The computer program ( I have an early edition) is somewhat difficult to navigate as directed. Since the books of the Bible are written by man, I remain open, but not convinced.
